ULTRA Anchor

Our ULTRA Anchor for fast setting and secure holding

The ULTRA Anchor range is designed and manufactured in Turkey and represents an engineered approach to anchoring performance and stainless-steel construction. Each anchor is hand-made and hand-polished. The design focuses on weight distribution and geometry to support reliable setting and controlled recovery.

Sizes and vessel suitability

  • Anchor range: 5 kg to 360 kg.
  • Suitable for a wide variety of vessel types and bow roller installations.

Key performance features

  • Sets on the first drop and holds immediately, without dragging.
  • Buries deeper and increases holding under rising wind loads.
  • Stays engaged even with changing wind directions.
  • Self-aligns to settle naturally onto the bow roller during retrieval.
  • Works smoothly with craft pulleys / bow roller setups and “shoots forward” automatically when deploying.

Design and construction

The ULTRA Anchor’s performance comes from its weight distribution and patented design details, including:

  • A curved, lead-filled tip to promote immediate seabed penetration.
  • A hollow shank designed for optimized weight distribution.
  • Concave base surfaces for high holding power.
  • Side wing plates prevent to release during wind/tide changes.
  • A flat pivot surface on the underside to support easier recovery.

Manufacturing is hand-made and hand-polished from stainless steels specified as 316L and 318LN. Therefore, galvanizing is not required.

Selecting the right model

Use the ULTRA Anchor selection resources to choose a model based on your vessel type and key parameters (e.g., vessel weight/displacement and length). The selection table and main dimensions are also provided in the download section below.

Warranty registration

ULTRA Anchor includes a lifetime warranty against material defects including bending, breaking, cracking, and rusting (as defined by the manufacturer). Warranty registration is available via the warranty registration link.

FAQs

What makes the ULTRA Anchor different from conventional marine anchors?

The ULTRA Anchor combines patented design features with optimized weight distribution to support fast setting, reliable holding, and controlled recovery. Key design elements such as the curved lead-filled tip, hollow shank, and concave base surfaces are engineered to improve seabed penetration and holding performance in a wide range of anchoring conditions.

How does the ULTRA Anchor achieve fast setting on different seabeds?

The ULTRA Anchor is designed to penetrate the seabed quickly through its weighted tip and carefully balanced geometry. Once the anchor reaches the seabed, its shape helps it rotate into an effective attack position, allowing it to establish holding power with minimal dragging.

Why is weight distribution important in anchor design?

Weight distribution plays a critical role in how an anchor lands, penetrates, and repositions itself during use. A properly balanced anchor can recover into the correct orientation more consistently, helping improve setting behaviour and supporting reliable holding performance when wind or tide conditions change.

Can the ULTRA Anchor remain secure during changing wind and tide conditions?

The ULTRA Anchor is engineered to remain engaged when loads shift due to changing environmental conditions. Features such as the side wing plates and optimized anchor geometry help reduce the likelihood of unintended release and support stable holding throughout changing wind or tidal cycles.

How do I choose the correct ULTRA Anchor size for my vessel?

The appropriate anchor size depends on factors such as vessel length, displacement, operating conditions, and anchoring habits. ULTRA-cromox provides selection tables and dimensional information to help owners, yards, and marine professionals identify the most suitable anchor model for their specific application.
