Our ULTRALINE Flat Rope Reel for compact line storage and clean handling on board

The ULTRALINE Flat Rope Reel is designed to store stern anchor lines, towlines, or mooring lines in a compact, stainless-steel housing. The line runs inside the hub, helping keep surrounding deck equipment clear. Deployment and retrieval are straightforward: pay out the line as needed and wind it back in after use. The system is designed for line management, with the line secured to a cleat when under load.

  • Twin rollers and guides support controlled spooling and help squeeze excess water from the flat rope. 
  • Rope guides include a scale indicating the approximate amount of line in use; hole guides support quicker drying. 
  • Multifunction handle fits a standard winch-handle socket and includes integrated keys and a shackle buster. 
  • Suitable for rail or bulkhead mounting; mounting kit included. 
  • Bitter end attachment uses velcro designed to release under force without damaging rail or bulkhead.

Design and construction

ULTRALINE is designed as a compact, stainless-steel line management system. The housing is specified as highly polished 316L stainless steel and is built so that the line rotates inside the hub rather than turning the housing. The system is supplied with a floating narrow Dyneema® flat line and is a quiet-running solution compared with many other flat lines.

Construction details 

  • Housing: 316L stainless steel, polished – non-rotating housing concept. 
  • Line: UV-resistant flat line, provided with a stitched eye at one end, spool attachment at the other. 
  • Handling: twin rollers and guides support spooling (guides support drying and tracking of line usage) 
  • Installation: designed for standard rail or bulkhead mount (comprehensive mounting kit included) 
  • The reel is not a load-bearing device: Line must be cleated off when anchored or moored.
